Without a diesel engine, there is no diesel locomotive. It is the power device of a diesel locomotive, which is the "heart". As long as the diesel engine is started, the locomotive can start, otherwise the locomotive will not move. Here is a simple look at how the diesel engine works.
The whole working system of diesel engine includes 7 parts:
1, fixed parts. It is used to support various components and provide a place for diesel engines to do combustion work. It is composed of a body, main bearing, cylinder, cylinder head, and base (oil pan).
2. Moving parts. It is a mechanism that does work and transmits and outputs power in a diesel engine. It consists of a piston group, a connecting rod group and a crankshaft.
3. Intake and exhaust system. It is used to fill the cylinders with cooled fresh air and to discharge exhaust gases from the cylinders.
4. The fuel system. A certain amount of misty fuel is injected into the cylinder on time to push the piston to do work after combustion.
5. Oil lubrication system. Used to lubricate and cool the friction surfaces of moving parts such as pistons.
6. Cooling water system. Ensure that all heated parts are cooled in time.
7, the regulatory system. There are mainly governor (regulator), lever system, overspeed protection device and emergency stop device, so that the driver can speed the diesel engine and can automatically prevent the diesel engine overload and "flying".
The core component of the diesel engine is the cylinder. The cylinder head is above, the piston is below, and the cylinder liner is surrounded by a combustion chamber. The top of the cylinder head is arranged with intake valves, exhaust valves and fuel injectors. After the air released through the intake valve on the cylinder head is mixed with the fuel sprayed from the injector, it burns and expands in the combustion chamber, pushing the piston down in the cylinder liner, thereby pushing the crankshaft to rotate; due to the inertia of the crankshaft rotation, it is in turn Push the piston to move upward, and finally form the reciprocating movement of the piston in the cylinder liner, and the crankshaft also rotates continuously.
